Firstly; many thanks to you all for your warm wishes and Christmas Cards which brightened up our office considerably. Despite all the kerfuffle regarding (dare I mention it) Brexit, the stamp market still appears strong with steady auction prices. This month we have quite a rarity, namely those remarkable blocks on our front cover. I hope they find a good home and prove to be not only a treasured item but also, in time, a valuable asset. At one time stamps of India were always a difficult seller for the dealer, but in recent years with the increased wealth of that nation, more Indian collectors are emerging and finding pleasure in collecting stamps and antiques from their own country. The early Indian States issues have always been tricky to complete and have grown in demand and, consequently, value. Other additions include a number of covers from African Colonies and a few more Indo-Chinese. Also you will find a good many more collections on our first 2 pages made up from excess stocks. The condition of these is excellent and should be a boon to anyone expanding their colonies. Our policy of reducing lots each month seems popular and eventually everything goes, so don't wait too long. Hoping you have all survived the New Year's celebrations and I wish the best to all for 2019.
